Francis de Bono is an Australian born artist based in Naarm/ Melbourne. In 2016 Francis completed a Diploma of Visuals Arts at RMIT, Carlton and in 2019 Francis completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Monash University Caulfield.
Exploring the relationship between one’s consciousness and the objective physical world, de Bono’ s practice applies the action of walking to discern how our perception of the world as we move through it is governed by our subjectivity. In acknowledgement of the artist’s contention that individuals create an inner geography of space before they walk through it, de Bono demonstrates the projection of this internal mapping across the exterior world.
Francis acknowledges the people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the lands to which he lives works and walks and pays respects to elders past, present and emerging.
